The Rippey Lions Club met on Thursday, Sept. 9, for their regular meeting. Greg Jacobs, president, opened the meeting followed by a meal prepared and served by Phyllis Bardole. The Lions are considering community projects. Patches were presented that will be attached to the Lions Club banner.

Lions Club members will do future planning regarding encouraging new members and fundraising possibilities during the program time at the next meeting.

Following the business meeting, Dale Hanaman introduced Chris Henning of Cooper who shared “River Stories” relating to the Raccoon River provided by residents from Churdan, Coon Rapids and Cooper.

The next meeting will include a potluck meal on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 7 pm at the Rippey United Methodist Church.

Welcome Sunday – A special Fall Welcome Sunday will be held at the Rippey United Methodist Church on Oct. 3 with worship at 11 am with a meal provided at noon. Join family and friends for this time together.

Family gathering- Dale and Nancy Hanaman shared in the Bardurian annual barbecue for family and friends on Saturday hosted by their niece and family, Sydney and Nemo Bardurian and Esme in Des Moines. John Bardole, Nancy’s brother from West Des Moines, also joined the group.
